***News Update (8/23/2004)***

Another excellent effort against the Arsenals puts our record at a respectable 3-1-2, and more  importantly, gives us some momentum heading into the playoffs.

That's right, Jim, we're talking playoffs. Playoffs begin sometime next week, probably on Monday night. I'll let everyone know as soon as I find anything out. We should stand a pretty good chance in this tourney, as we've really been on a roll lately. We defeated a very good team tonight (even though they didn't have girls), and we battled tough against a great team last week. There's no reason that if we have all our people healthy and ready to roll, that we can't take this thing, and show all those sucka's who runs this town. Booyaa.

Well, tonight Team Hadoken went up against the previously unbeaten Tank Ducks, and came away with a split. Hadoken won the bookend games against the drunk, cheating, cell-phone stealing, s-talking ass-clowns. Our record is now 1-1-2. If this was the NHL, we'd have 4 points. But it's not, so we don't.

***News Update (8/11/2004)***

Tonight's game has been postponed due to court conditions. Make-up is Monday at 9:00 PM.

***News Update (8/3/2004)***

Just flew in from Chicago, and boy are my arms....nevermind. Anyway, sounds like today's game was the proverbial sister-kisser. So, our record remains even. Not good, not bad, just "bluh." I can live with "bluh."

***News Update (7/30/2004)***

Good news from last night, as we evened up our record at 4-4. Granted, our opponent didn't show up, but we'll take wins any way we can get them. It was nice to get some good practice time in, and I was glad to see everyone's enthusiasm. I can also say that last night I had nightmares of Pagoda chasing me in the woods, carrying a face-cutting knife in one hand, and a dodge ball in the other. Scary stuff.

***News Update (7/26/2004)***

I just received word of last weeks "difficulties." I want everyone to know right now that being that it was our first game, we can look at it as a learning experience. As long as everyone that was there took something away from the game that they can work on, we'll be OK. Now that opening jitters are out of the way, it is probably important to state that from now on, losing is unacceptable. I didn't sign up to finish second, I signed up to destroy and dominate opponents. To laugh, long and hard, while standing over the fallen body of a vanquished foe. To walk around the streets of Manayunk with my head held high, knowing that I am better than everyone else I see, and if anyone has something to say about it, we can settle it on the dodge ball court.  Before Thursday's game, I want each of you to look at every other player right in the eye. I want you to know that no matter who it is, that person that you are staring in the eye would die for you, and you must have the attitude that you will die for them.  That's how teams work, and that is what will take us to the top. Second is just not good enough. Hadoken.

Anyone know how we did in our game? Anyway, the schedule is available. Use the link on the left to access it. There may be one more makeup game, since we technically lost two due to rain. Any updates will be posted. Next game: Thursday 7/29 @ 9:00 pm. Be there or be octagonal. That's twice as bad as being square.

***News Update (7/14/2004)***

Foiled again. Tonight's game has been cancelled due to rain. No word yet on the next game, however if I hear anything prior to Friday I'll post it here. I will be out of town from Friday 7/16 - Friday 7/23 and may not be able to update the site. If I hear anything, I'll make the necessary phone calls. I may be able to send e-mail, but I don't know for sure.

I think Mike Y. is going to proceed with the team t-shirt effort. Rumor has it were going with the light blue / red ensemble reminiscent of the mid '80's Dickie Thon / Juan Samuel / Steve Jeltz (dare I say Von Hayes?) era Phillies. I'm getting all warm inside just thinking about it.

***News Update (7/11/2004)***

Our first game will be this Wednesday, 7/14/2004 @ 8:00 PM at the Kendrick Rec. Center Hockey Court (off of Ridge Ave., opposite Rox. Hospital.)

Also, they decided to add additional teams, so games will now be played on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights (instead of just Wednesday or Thursday.) I don't have a schedule yet (will I ever get one???), but as soon as I do, it will be on here. Please let me know if you cannot play on Wednesday, so I'll know if we have to recruit anyone.
